Dubai’s private education regulator has released its annual ratings for the branch campuses of international universities in the emirate.
This time, 64 per cent of institutions have achieved four or five stars in the Knowledge and Human Development Authority's (KHDA) ‘Higher Education Classification’ system.
It takes into account factors like teaching, research, employability and internationalisation.
Seventeen campuses took part in the evaluation, while more than 30,000 students were surveyed.
Six of them achieved a 5-star rating, five were rated 4-star, four received a 3-star, while two were handed a 2-star rating.
The ratings have been jointly developed in partnership with QS Quacquarelli Symonds and adapted to meet the needs of branch campuses in Dubai.
The results will make it easier for parents and pupils to make decisions about their higher education choices.
“The Higher Education Classification is another step forward in the maturity of Dubai’s private higher education sector. Students in Dubai and all over the world can refer to the HEC to identify what they value in higher education, and then to make more confident decisions about their future in Dubai," said Dr. Wafi Dawood, CEO of Strategy & Planning Sector at the KHDA.
"The HEC also gives branch campuses an opportunity to show their strengths."
