A young man has run into trouble for dancing indecently at a local café.
According to Dubai Police, a video of the act went viral and he's now been charged with 'committing public indecent act'.
The authority also arrested the individual who recorded and posted the video on social media platforms.
He has been slapped with the charge of 'posting online content that violates public morality'.
Meanwhile, the café has been fined and shut down for failing to comply with the precautionary measures against COVID-19.
Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Dubai Police, explained that as per Article (358) of the UAE penal code, whoever openly commits an indecent and disgraceful act shall be punished by detention for a period of at least six months.
