Dubai’s electric vehicle charging network continues to expand, with more than 1,860 EV Green Charger points now operating across the emirate.
The network includes charging stations licensed by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), in partnership with both government and private sector organisations.
By mid-January 2026, more than 23,600 users had registered with the EV Green Charger initiative. Since its launch in 2014, DEWA has supplied over 55,000 megawatt hours of electricity — enough to power more than 276 million kilometres of electric vehicle travel.
DEWA currently offers four types of chargers, including ultra-fast, fast, public and wall-box units.
Drivers can easily find charging locations through DEWA’s website, smart app and several other digital platforms.
Customers can register for a Green Charger account online, through the app, or by phone, allowing access to charging stations within an hour. A guest mode is also available for added convenience.
DEWA says the expansion supports Dubai’s vision to become a global leader in sustainable mobility, aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy and Dubai’s Green Mobility goals, while making it easier for residents and visitors to choose cleaner transportation.
