Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has called on parents to take note of the changes in age requirements for children planning to join school, the next academic year (2021-2022).
The new rules are in line with a resolution issued by the Ministry of Education earlier this year, and will impact children up to six years old who are enrolling in school for the first time.
The changes will affect new students joining FS1, FS2, Year 1 and Year 2 (or Pre-KG, KG1, KG2 and Grade 1) in all schools in the UAE.

According to the KHDA, the ministry's decision is aimed at bringing more consistency to the cut-off dates used by schools in the UAE with those used by schools abroad.
It has also advised parents to check the FAQs section on its website for the latest updates.
Your kids may be affected by the change in age requirements if they’re starting school next year. Check our FAQs for more info on the MoE’s resolution for all schools in the UAE: https://t.co/ZxK1Cou1SW pic.twitter.com/qVblpN1hm8
