The number of COVID-19 patients that need to be hospitalized in the UAE is much less than the global average.
That’s according to Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), who revealed that the majority of diagnosed patients do not need to be hospitalized.
The percentage of infected people that need to be admitted into intensive care units (ICU) or require ventilators is much less than the global average, he added.
Al Qatami said that most people are asymptomatic which means they only need to home-quarantine or self-isolate for 14 days.
According to Humaid Al Qatami, the majority of COVID-19 cases in #UAE are mild, that need only to be isolated to protect others and the percentage of cases that need ICU and ventilation is very low compared to the global average. #DubaiOneTv #WeAreAllResponsible @DHA_Dubai pic.twitter.com/7xktOWfvbh
