Umm Al Quwain's Corniche Street has been renamed in honour of the late Kuwaiti Emir.
It will now be known as Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street.
The directive was issued by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain.
The move is in recognition of the late Emir's contributions to his homeland as well as other countries.
It also acknowledges the role played by Sheikh Sabah before the establishment of the UAE Union and his direct follow-up to many of Kuwait's development initiatives in the region.
