UAE university students to get free access to 'Google AI Plus'

University students can get free access to 'Google AI Plus' for a year, under the "AI for All" initiative launched by the UAE Artificial Intelligence Office and Google in 2024.

They will be allowed to use Google Gemini as well as other AI-powered tools to organise sources and information, summarise study materials and generate images and videos.

Students will also be given a series of virtual and in-person training to develop their skills, while promoting responsible practices in AI.

Registered university students aged 18 and older can sign up for the free plan - goo.gle/studentoffer26-uae - as long as their registration is completed before December 31.

It's part of the government's efforts to empower students with modern digital tools and to help them leverage the growing capabilities of AI.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, said empowering students and developing their skills, fosters a culture of continuous learning, exploration and innovation, and enhances their role in designing an AI-driven future.
