The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Iran's Ambassador Reza Ameri and delivered a strongly worded protest over the Iranian attacks, condemning them as a blatant violation of UAE sovereignty, a threat to national security and a breach of international law.
During the meeting, Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar rejected any justifications for the attacks, which targeted civilian sites including residential areas, airports, ports and service facilities, endangering innocent lives.
He added that Iran did not take into account the UAE’s clear position that it will not allow its territory to be used for military operations against the country.
The minister stressed that the attacks violate principles of good neighbourliness and the UN Charter, undermine de-escalation efforts, and warned of serious repercussions on bilateral political, economic and trade relations.
He reaffirmed the UAE’s demand for respect of its sovereignty, an immediate cessation of attacks, and emphasised that the country reserves the right to respond fully within its legal rights.
