Authorities in the UAE have shut down 77 social media accounts in the first half of this year for promoting unlicensed domestic worker recruitment.
The action was taken by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, in coordination with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, following investigations into unofficial operations.
Families and employers are being urged to only engage with licensed recruitment agencies to protect their legal rights and avoid financial risks.
Residents can verify agencies by calling 600-590-000 or visiting the Ministry’s official website, where a full list of approved agencies is available.
