The UAE has sent an aid plane carrying 1,640 home power generators to support families impacted by the conflict in Ukraine during the harsh winter months.
Each generator has a capacity ranging from 3.5 kilowatts to 8 kilowatts to power small homes.
On Tuesday, the UAE transported some of these electric generators to the Polish capital, Warsaw, with the remaining generators set to be transported in January.
Majid bin Kamal, Director of Humanitarian Support and Aid in the Office of International Affairs in the Presidential Office, said the UAE will continue to send shipments to support the education and health sectors, and more winter aid.
Since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE has provided humanitarian aid worth $100 million to Ukraine, and sent close to 1,000 tonnes of relief supplies via air and sea. Most of the shipments were first sent to Poland and Romania, before it was transported into Ukraine.
