The UAE has strongly condemned the hostile Iranian attack on Qatar’s Al Rakeyyat vessel as it was transiting near the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack poses a serious threat to international shipping and marks a dangerous escalation in one of the world's most critical waterways.
The UAE expressed its solidarity with Qatar and reaffirmed its support for efforts to protect commercial vessels, national interests and freedom of navigation.
The Ministry also warned that targeting commercial shipping threatens regional stability, global energy security and international trade.
