The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the total ban on all types of drones and light sports aircraft.
Making the announcement on its official social media handle, the civil aviation authority said the decision was made following "the current exceptional circumstances".
It said all operating permits for gliders and paragliders, drones (UAVs) and recreational and light sports aircraft have been suspended.
Violators will face legal action, the authority added.
