His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the President of Azerbaijan have explored options to enhance relations between the two countries.
In a phone call, the two leaders discussed cooperation across various fronts, notably in trade and energy, while also reviewing a number of regional and international issues.
Sheikh Mohamed congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the start of construction by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company on the 230-megwatt Garadagh Solar Plant in Azerbaijan, stressing the UAE's wish to strengthen strategic ties between the two in the field of renewable energy.
The call touched on the current energy situation worldwide in light of the crisis in Ukraine, with Sheikh Mohamed highlighting the UAE's wish for global energy security and market stability.
