UAE approves first vertiport for electric flying vehicles

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has granted operational approval for the UAE's first vertiport. 

A vertiport is an area that can support the landing and take-off of eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft during flight operations, and are considered as the future of air transportation.

The approval was unveiled at the DRIFTx event, taking place in Abu Dhabi. 

The announcement highlights the UAE's commitment to pioneering autonomous transportation and accelerating advanced air mobility in the UAE.
