The UAE Artificial Intelligence Office has launched a course to help individuals use AI to translate ideas into websites and digital applications in minutes.
Launched on UAE Codes Day, the initiative introduces participants to the "Vibe Coding" approach, which lets them describe their ideas in natural language while AI-powered tools translate them into working website or digital application prototypes.
The course attracted 5,000 participants within its first hour of launch, reflecting strong interest in AI-powered innovation and the UAE’s continued efforts to make technology development more accessible to everyone.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, said the initiative "seeks to empower individuals to benefit from rapid advancements in digital solution development, while strengthening their confidence in their ability to innovate and create solutions that respond to the needs and aspirations of society".
He added that "UAE Codes Day represents a national opportunity to broaden public participation in shaping the digital future and reinforce the understanding that what once seemed beyond reach is now within everyone's grasp."
The course is available online for individuals aged 15 and up, with no prior experience programming experience required.
In October 2021, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, directed that October 29 be designated annually as UAE Codes Day.
The occasion commemorates His Highness's launch of the region's first e-government initiative on October 29, 2001.
Meanwhile, in November 2023, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) adopted the UAE's proposal to designate October 29 as the International Day of Programming.
