His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has discussed the ongoing US-Iran talks in Oman with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in a phone call.
According to the national news agency Wam, Sheikh Abdullah expressed appreciation for Iran’s commitment to engaging in the talks.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the move strengthens security and stability in the region and supports efforts to uphold international peace and security.
Sheikh Abdullah earlier held talks with his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and commended him for undertaking "constructive mediation efforts" to "consolidate trust and reinforce stability in the region".
The talks held in Oman on Saturday were the first between Iran and the Trump administration.
