Authorities in the UAE are taking steps to protect students from the summer heat.

It's been confirmed that all public schools in the country will run for an hour less during summer.

The Ministry of Education says that in addition to there being no morning assemblies, class periods have also been shorted from 45 minutes to 40.

The new timings, which are already in effect, will run until the school semester ends in July.
