More than 550,000 children have passed through specially dedicated immigration counters at Dubai International Airport (DXB) since they were brought in last April.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) said the stands in the arrivals halls of Terminals 1, 2 and 3 give kids the opportunity to stamp their passports themselves, with the idea of making the process more fun and interactive.
Nearly 435,000 completed travel procedures up to the end of last year, while close to 119,000 crossed through the gates in the first quarter of this year.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA, made the announcement on a visit to the arrivals and departures halls at DXB on the first day of Eid Al Fitr.
Golden Visa
While there he also said that the number of Golden Residency visas issued in Dubai almost doubled in 2023, compared to the previous year.
The Lieutenant General said around 158,000 were issued for all categories while 79,617 were issued in 2022.
47,150 Golden Visas had been issued in 2021.
