Dubai’s Movement Permit Registration Scheme has been updated for those not travelling in a car.
If you need to leave your home for personal reasons, you're required to apply for a permit via the website.
The system now allows you to select the reason for your outing, such as medical supplies, grocery shopping or other, which allows you to enter the purpose.
You will then be offered options for mode of transport, including car, bus, walking or cycling.
People working in vital or support sectors do not need to apply for a movement permit but are instead required to carry a letter from their employer.
