His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched the seventh cycle of the Arab Hope Makers, aiming to seek out "people of goodness and creators of kindness in communities".
In a post on the social media platform X, Sheikh Mohammed added that the initiative aims to "honor them and showcase the nobility of their deeds".
Considered the largest initiative of its kind in the Arab world, the initiative celebrates philanthropists and recognises their charitable, social, and humanitarian work to improve their communities, help those in need, and create a positive impact by dedicating their resources and capabilities for the greater good.
“The story of human civilisation began with hope. Our societies will thrive as long as we remain capable of inspiring hope. Hope Makers serve as extraordinary role models who have turned simple acts of goodness into a daily practice and a shared culture," said His Highness.
The requirements, according to His Highness's post, include fluent reading and writing in the language of giving, prior experience in a humanitarian or community-focused service, and a positive outlook on life, with no specific age limit.
Potential Hope Makers, including individuals, volunteering groups and non-profit organisations who are driving change through community-focused efforts, can nominate themselves or be nominated by others who find them suitable for the title.
The selected hope makers will receive a prize of AED 1 million for their humanitarian contributions.
"Our journey will not stop at inspiring humanity... and building hope... and moving communities toward the better", he added on X.
Interested participants can apply on the initiative's official website.
The initiative was launched in 2017 when Sheikh Mohammed posted a creative ad on his official social media accounts offering a job for the position of Hope Maker for a reward of AED 1 million.

وجمال قيمهم في الحياة… pic.twitter.com/usTgdsVugj
