Tributes are being paid to the late H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum on the thirtieth anniversary of his death.
Sheikh Rashid died on October 7 1990, having ruled the emirate for 32 years.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, has posted honours to his father on social media.
Sheikh Mohammed said the late ruler "loved Dubai and was faithful to the union...he left quietly after filling the world with his deeds."
Dubai's Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also posted a tribute saying, he had "created an inspiring vision for Dubai and its people."
