His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, has announced the establishment of the Dubai Civility Committee that aims to make the Emirate "the best city in the world".
Sheikh Hamdan credited it to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai "the best, the most beautiful, the most refined, and the most civilised city in the world".
The committee will "turn this vision into reality", Sheikh Hamdan added.
It will be chaired by Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the UAE, with Mattar Al Tayer, who holds the position of Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), stepping in as Deputy Chair.
Members of the Committee will include Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of the Executive Council in Dubai;Omar Al Olama, Director General of the Crown Prince's Office; Abdullah Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Helal Al Marri, Director General of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; and Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
The committee's mandate aims to "present to the world the most refined modern-day experience in the world, a living model of progress, values, and human dignity".
