Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem BIKE have teamed up to offer free bikes to those who do not own a cycle but wish to participate in the Dubai Ride event on November 6.
The free bikes can be borrowed on a first-come, first-serve basis from Entrance A - MOTF - Trade Centre St. and the Entrance E - Lower FCS - Financial Centre Road next to Roda Al Murooj building A.
Participants can also rent a Careem BIKE from any of the 175 stations in Dubai, and overtime fees will be waived for the duration of the event.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of Dubai’s bike-sharing scheme, and make Dubai Ride more accessible.
In order to avail a free Careem BIKE, participants will receive a special code. They will also be required to enter their card details as a security measure but will not be charged.
All participants are required to bring their own helmets to use the bikes.
"Customers can avail free bikes on a first-come, first-serve basis from a select number of stations, and overtime fees for those renting bikes from the other stations will be waived exclusively for Dubai Ride participants during the event," explained Bassel Al Nahlaoui, Managing Director of Mobility at Careem.
The Dubai Ride routes open at 5:00 am, with all cyclists starting their journey at 6:30 am and finishing at 7:30 am.
