Parkin Company, the largest provider of paid public parking facilities in Dubai, has announced an update to its electric vehicle (EV) charging partnership with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
As part of the first phase of this sustainability initiative, DEWA will install new EV charging stations in the first quarter of 2025.
These stations (operating on alternating current - AC), each with a capacity of 22 kilowatts, will be placed at prime parking locations managed by Parkin, with each station serving two parking spaces.
The new charging stations will be located in specific on-street parking areas in Zones A and C, targeting high-density residential communities with limited access to EV charging.
Customers will be able to pay for both the parking and charging fees in one seamless transaction through Parkin's app and digital wallet.
DEWA currently operates around 740 EV charging points across Dubai and plans to expand the network to 1,000 stations by the end of 2025.
