Dubai Police have launched a new fitness programme, 'Fitness Zone 2025', that aims to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of inmates, in line with the upcoming Dubai 30X30 fitness challenge.

The programme's first intake includes 47 inmates with excess weight that will enter into a fitness journey with tailored plans designed to help them return to society as healthy and active members.

Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abdullah Al Obaidli stated that the project "aims to make sport a daily habit, improve fitness levels, and boost positive energy, which in turn enhances mental health and everyday behaviour."

He also added that the Dubai Police is committed to a "comprehensive rehabilitative environment that goes beyond security to include health, education, and behavioural development."

The initiative is organised under the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions at Dubai Police, in collaboration with the Rehabilitation and Readiness Centre, the Dubai Police Health Centre, and the General Department of Training.
