As many as 767,637 COVID-19 tests were carried out in the UAE between November 25-30, which helped identify 7,495 new cases.
A total of 4,638 patients recovered during the same period, while 13 others died.
The figures were revealed during the UAE government's latest media briefing on Monday.
Spokesperson Dr. Omar Al Hammadi said the fatality rate of 0.3 per cent is among the lowest in the world.
Al Hammadi added that developing a safe COVID-19 vaccine is currently the government's top priority, and he highlighted how the Hope Consortium, recently announced by the UAE will help distribute and deliver billions of vaccine doses around the world next year.
He explained that currently the vaccine is only given to our frontline workers as they are more vulnerable to the infection than others, in addition to the elderly and people with chronic diseases.
The official added that at the beginning of trials, the vaccine will not be given to children or pregnant women until its safety is assured.
The highest priority in the current period is the provision and development of a safe vaccine. The success of a vaccine, its effectiveness and safety, will be a success for all humanity against this pandemic. #CommitToWin
