A committee will be formed to address issues concerning workers in Abu Dhabi and ensure their rights are being upheld.
The Abu Dhabi Workers’ Committee is tasked with creating an inspection programme to ensure workers have valid work visas and are being paid and looked after.
It’s also going to look at creating a process for resolving workers’ complaints and review laws concerning the labour market.
It will be chaired by the head of the Department of Economic Development, with members consisting of officials from a number of relevant government departments.
