Celine Dion misses brother's funeral

Celine Dion did not attend her brother's funeral yesterday (25.01.16). The 'My Heart Will Go On' singer attended a memorial service for Daniel Dion on Saturday (23.01.16), a day after her husband René Angélil's funeral, but declined to attend the final service at St-Simon-et-Jude parish in Charlemagne, Québec, where the family was raised, because she could not continue two more days of public mourning, 'Entertainment Tonight' reports. Celine, 47, has had an incredibly tough month after her husband of 21 years died of cancer on January 14, two days before her brother lost his own battle with the disease. Celine personally greeted mourners at an open casket wake for her spouse at the Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal on Thursday (21.01.16). On Friday, René was laid to rest at a public funeral at the Notre-Dame Basilica - where he and the singer were married in 1994 - and a memorial took place for Daniel at Salon Charles Rajotte in Repentigny the following day. Another public memorial will be held for René on February 3 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where Celine has a concert residency. The 'Power of Love' hitmaker - who has children René-Charles, 15, and five-year-old Eddy and Nelson with René - is scheduled to return to the stage on February 23.
